Puri Girl Injured After Iron Grill Pierces Hand While Plucking Flowers for Khudurukuni Osha

Puri, Aug. 31 (UDN): A young girl suffered serious injuries after an iron grill rod pierced through her hand while she was trying to collect flowers for Khudurukuni Osha in Odisha’s Puri district on Sunday.

The incident occurred at Jamuna village under Delang police station.

According to reports, the girl, identified as Supriya, daughter of Swadhin Ray, had gone to collect flowers for the religious observance. As the gate of the premises was locked, she reportedly climbed over the boundary wall to reach the flowers.

However, during the attempt, her hand got impaled on an iron grill, leaving her seriously injured and trapped.

Fire Brigade Rescues Girl

After being informed about the incident, fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot. With the help of local villagers, they managed to rescue the injured girl from the grill.

Supriya was initially taken to Jatni Hospital for medical treatment.

Shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar

Considering the seriousness of her injury, doctors later advised that she be shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

She was subsequently admitted to the premier medical institute, where doctors performed a surgical procedure to remove the iron grill rod from her hand.

Her condition and further treatment details were not immediately available.

No official statement from the girl’s family or concerned authorities was available at the time of reporting.
