Aug 4: Long before women-led entrepreneurship became part of mainstream business conversations, one woman’s determination laid the foundation for what would become one of Thane’s most enduring jewellery legacies.

In 1948, Bhavana Ben Rajawat mortgaged her wedding jewellery to purchase just four pearl necklaces, marking the beginning of Fulchand Gulabchand Jewellers. Nearly 78 years later, that courageous decision has evolved into a trusted, family-run jewellery house spanning three generations, built on craftsmanship, authenticity and enduring relationships.
Today, under the leadership of third-generation entrepreneurs Diksha Rajawat and Prerana Rajawat Pawar, the brand offers over 4,000 thoughtfully curated jewellery designs while continuing to honour its founding philosophy—creating timeless pieces that become part of a family’s legacy rather than fleeting trends.
“Our greatest achievement has never been measured by the number of pieces we’ve sold, but by the generations of families who continue to place their trust in us,” says Diksha Rajawat, Chief Jewellery Officer, Fulchand Gulabchand Jewellers. “While our craftsmanship remains rooted in traditional artistry, our collections continue to evolve for the modern consumer, balancing heritage with contemporary design.”
The brand works closely with master artisans from Kolkata, preserving traditional techniques such as Kalkatti craftsmanship, Meena work, Kundan and Polki, while complementing them with contemporary diamond collections and versatile everyday jewellery.
Having grown up within the business, Diksha and Prerana have modernised the brand through digital storytelling and social media while remaining deeply committed to the values and craftsmanship that define its legacy.
As the festive and wedding season approaches, Fulchand Gulabchand Jewellers will unveil a heritage-inspired collection featuring handcrafted Kundan, pearls and traditional detailing alongside contemporary diamond creations.
Nearly eight decades after four pearl necklaces sparked a dream, Fulchand Gulabchand Jewellers continues to prove that true luxury lies not only in precious materials, but in craftsmanship, trust and a legacy passed down through generations.
