New Delhi, 23rd Dec 2025 – Shri Saleem Ahmad assumed charge as the new Chairman and Managing Director of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited  a Navratna Central Government PSU under the Ministry of Railways, today i.e. on 23 December 2025. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as Director at NBCC .

A civil engineer with over 33 years of experience in the construction industry, Shri Ahmad has held key leadership positions, including Executive Director  at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. and roles at the Mumbai Port Trust.

He brings extensive experience in executing large, multidimensional infrastructure projects, with expertise spanning bridges, tunnels, and residential and commercial buildings. Shri Ahmad has also presented papers on sustainable infrastructure and urban mobility at various national and international forums. During his long association with DMRC, he played a significant role in designing and implementing last-mile connectivity solutions.

Shri Saleem Ahmad is a 1990-batch civil engineering graduate from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi.
