Working in multiple shifts round the clock, sanitation teams ensured that the massive congregation of pilgrims experienced a clean and dignified environment during one of the country’s largest religious gatherings.

Despite the enormous footfall, workers continuously cleared litter, collected waste, and maintained public spaces along the chariot route, enabling devotees to participate in the festivities without disruption.

The Puri Municipality acknowledged the dedication of its sanitation workforce, describing them as the backbone of the city’s cleanliness drive during Rath Yatra. Their relentless efforts helped maintain hygiene standards while supporting the smooth conduct of the annual festival.

The civic body also appealed to devotees and visitors to support the Swachh Puri initiative by using designated waste bins, avoiding littering, and helping preserve the sanctity of the holy city.

As preparations continue for the Bahuda Yatra and Suna Besha, sanitation teams remain on high alert, ensuring that Bada Danda and surrounding areas stay clean and ready to welcome lakhs of pilgrims expected over the coming days.

The relentless commitment of these frontline workers has once again highlighted their vital role in making the Rath Yatra not only a spiritually enriching experience but also a clean, safe, and well-managed celebration.
