Bhubaneswar, April 18(BNP): Vineet Jain, Managing Director of The Times Group and founder of the Indian Pickleball League (IPBL), inaugurated eight state-of-the-art pickleball courts at the KIIT University campus on Saturday.

Jain is currently in Odisha to attend the 61st Femina Miss India 2026 Grand Finale being hosted at KIIT. On the occasion, he visited various campuses of KIIT and KISS and reviewed their academic and sports infrastructure.

During his visit, Jain toured the sports facilities at KIIT University and expressed admiration for the world-class infrastructure. He praised the efforts of KIIT and KISS founder Achyuta Samanta for promoting sports alongside education and creating a modern ecosystem for student development.

Adding a lively touch to the visit, Jain also played pickleball with KIIT students and Dr. Samanta, interacting closely with the young players and encouraging their participation in emerging sports.

Later, he spent considerable time at KISS University, where he engaged with students and appreciated the institution’s unique model of inclusive education and empowerment.

Speaking on the occasion, Jain said it was his first visit to Odisha and described the experience as memorable. He added that his visit to KIIT and KISS was made possible due to the invitation of Achyuta Samanta. Jain is also scheduled to visit Puri and Konark during his stay in the state.

The inauguration of the pickleball courts marks a significant step in KIIT’s ongoing efforts to promote new-age sports and strengthen its position as a hub of sporting excellence.
