Bhubaneswar, May 25 (BNP): A youth sustained critical burn injuries after allegedly climbing atop a stationary train coach to click selfies and shoot social media reels at Mancheswar Railway Station in Bhubaneswar on Sunday, highlighting the growing dangers associated with risky online content creation.
According to sources, the injured youth had reportedly come from Rajasthan to Cuttack for training purposes. His identity, however, had not been officially established at the time of reporting.
The mishap occurred when the youth allegedly climbed onto the roof of a stationary train coach at Mancheswar station to record videos and take photographs for social media. During the attempt, he is suspected to have come dangerously close to an overhead high-voltage electric line, resulting in a severe electric shock that left him critically injured with burn wounds.
On noticing the incident, railway personnel and bystanders rushed to the spot and shifted the injured youth for immediate medical attention. He was later admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where he is undergoing treatment.
