Malkangiri, Oct 23: One person was killed and more than 10 others sustained injuries after a DJ vehicle overturned near Anlajodi village in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Friday morning.

According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred around 7 am near Mathili when the vehicle, travelling from Dharmagarh towards Malkangiri, reportedly suffered a tyre burst. The driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.

The mishap resulted in the death of one person, while more than 10 others were injured in the incident.

Injured Shifted to Mathili Hospital

Following the accident, the injured were rescued from the spot and rushed to Mathili Hospital for medical treatment. Further details regarding their condition were not immediately available.

Police Begin Investigation

On receiving information about the accident, Mathili police initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the mishap.

Investigators are examining the reported tyre burst and other possible factors that may have contributed to the driver losing control of the vehicle.
