Odisha CM Conducts 19th Public Grievance Hearing; 96% of Petitions Addressed

Bhubaneswar, July 28 (UDN): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday chaired the 19th edition of the state’s Public Grievance Hearing at the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell in Unit-II, reaffirming the government’s focus on accessible and responsive governance.

The hearing witnessed the participation of six state ministers, who interacted directly with citizens from different districts and listened to their grievances alongside senior government officials.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), nearly 96 percent of the petitions received during the session have been resolved, while directions were issued to the concerned departments to ensure speedy and fair disposal of the remaining cases.

In addition to addressing public complaints, the Chief Minister approved financial assistance for 12 patients who had sought government support for medical treatment during the grievance hearing.

Sharing details on social media platform X, Majhi said the government’s priority is to ensure that governance reaches every citizen and that public issues are resolved without unnecessary delays.

“Our continuous effort is to bridge the gap between citizens and the administrative system by making governance more accessible and accountable,” the Chief Minister said.

He further asserted that the state government remains committed to transparency, efficient public service and citizen-centric administration.

Describing the present dispensation as a “people’s government,” Majhi said listening to public concerns and delivering lasting solutions would continue to remain at the core of the government’s governance model.
