Heavy Rush of Devotees Continues for Anasara Darshan at Shri Alarnath Temple

The temple has witnessed an unprecedented influx of devotees following the commencement of the Anasara rituals, observed when Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra remain away from public view at the Shree Jagannath Temple after the ceremonial Snana Purnima. During this period, devotees traditionally worship Lord Alarnath, believed to manifest as Lord Jagannath to bless devotees in His absence.

To ensure smooth crowd management and the safety of pilgrims, the district administration, police and temple authorities have made elaborate arrangements, including regulated entry and exit points, barricading, deployment of additional security personnel, drinking water facilities, medical assistance and traffic management measures around the temple premises.

Despite long waiting hours, devotees have been patiently standing in queues, reflecting their deep faith and devotion. Temple officials have reported that the flow of pilgrims is expected to remain high until the conclusion of the Anasara period, with a further increase anticipated on weekends and other auspicious days.

The administration has appealed to devotees to cooperate with security personnel, follow queue management guidelines and avoid overcrowding to facilitate a safe and orderly darshan experience for everyone.

The annual Anasara Darshan at Shri Alarnath Temple remains one of Odisha’s most significant religious observances, attracting devotees from across the country and reinforcing the rich spiritual traditions associated with Lord Jagannath.
