Young engineer from Koraput’s tribal belt receives appointment letter at Nijukti Mela, inspires a generation of rural girls
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 11 (UDN): For Alisha Rani Pangi, Monday’s Nijukti Mela was more than an official appointment ceremony—it marked the beginning of a new chapter in a journey shaped by determination, education and the ambition to serve society.
Hailing from Pottangi in Koraput district, Alisha had the honour of welcoming the Chief Minister with a bouquet at the event. Moments later, she received her appointment letter from him, turning the occasion into a memorable milestone for her and her family.
Daughter of Balaram Pangi, Alisha has been appointed as a Junior Engineer in Odisha’s Housing & Urban Development Department. She has been posted to the RWS&S Division in Malkangiri.
A Journey Beyond Geographical Boundaries
Coming from a rural and tribal region of Odisha, Alisha’s achievement carries significance beyond her individual career.
Her journey reflects how education and perseverance can open doors for young people from areas where opportunities may not always be easily accessible.
For many young girls in tribal and rural communities, her achievement offers an encouraging example—that one’s place of origin does not have to define one’s aspirations or future.
1,326 Receive Appointment Letters
The Nijukti Mela saw the distribution of 1,326 appointment letters across nine government departments. Among them, 364 appointments were made in the Housing & Urban Development Department.
For Alisha, the appointment brings with it a new responsibility. As she begins her career as a government engineer, she hopes to apply her technical knowledge to public projects and contribute to better infrastructure and essential services for communities.
Her posting in Malkangiri also takes her closer to the kind of rural and tribal communities she knows well.
From Pottangi to a government engineering post, Alisha’s story is a reminder that determination, when supported by opportunity, can take talent far beyond the boundaries of one’s hometown.
