Commissionerate Police Arrest Most-Wanted Fraudster in INR 5-Crore Cheating Case

Bhubaneswar, June 29 (UDN): In a major breakthrough, the Commissionerate Police have arrested alleged fraudster Sachidananda Bhoi, who was wanted in connection with a cheating case involving nearly ₹5 crore.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police apprehended Bhoi after an extensive search operation. The accused had allegedly been evading arrest for a considerable period and was on the list of most-wanted offenders of the Commissionerate Police.

According to police sources, Bhoi is accused of duping several individuals and investors of around ₹5 crore through fraudulent schemes and false promises. Multiple complaints had reportedly been registered against him at different police stations.

Following his arrest, the accused was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody. Police are currently interrogating him to ascertain the full extent of the fraud and identify other persons who may have been involved in the alleged racket.

Investigators are also examining financial transactions and other documentary evidence to trace the money trail and determine whether additional victims were cheated.

The arrest is being viewed as a significant success for the Commissionerate Police in their ongoing efforts to crack down on economic offences and bring absconding fraudsters to justice.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
