During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed opportunities to boost mineral-based industrial growth, improve mining-related infrastructure, and maximize the economic potential of Odisha’s vast mineral resources. The discussions also focused on ensuring sustainable and inclusive development in mining regions.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need for a saturation-mode and integrated development approach for mining-affected areas. He advocated for the convergence of various government welfare schemes along with resources from the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to accelerate socio-economic development in these regions.
Majhi stressed that coordinated utilization of these resources could significantly improve access to education, healthcare, drinking water, road connectivity, livelihood opportunities, and other essential services in mining belts.
The meeting underscored the commitment of both the Centre and the State Government to promote responsible mining practices while ensuring that the benefits of mineral wealth reach local communities and contribute to Odisha’s overall development.
Officials said the discussions are expected to pave the way for stronger collaboration between the Centre and the state in the mining and mineral sectors, which remain key drivers of Odisha’s economy.
