Bhubaneswar, Aug. 4 (UDN): On the occasion of Odia Journalism Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended his greetings and congratulations to journalists across the state, acknowledging their contribution to safeguarding truth, impartiality and public interest.

In his message, the Chief Minister described journalism as a strong pillar of democracy and praised media professionals for their commitment to delivering accurate and unbiased information while serving the larger interests of society.

He said the role of journalists in creating an informed, aware and responsible society is invaluable, adding that their dedication continues to strengthen democratic values and public accountability.

The Chief Minister also expressed hope that Odia journalism would continue its tradition of fearless, ethical and people-centric reporting, inspiring future generations of media professionals to uphold the highest standards of integrity and public service.

Odia Journalism Day is observed to recognise the rich legacy of journalism in the Odia language and to honour the contributions of media professionals who have played a vital role in informing the public and shaping public discourse in the state.
