According to preliminary information, the theft took place at the residence of Shubham Subrata while the family members were asleep. The miscreants reportedly gained entry into the house through a window before targeting an almirah containing cash and valuables.

Sources said the burglars are suspected to have used a key-manipulation tool or other means to unlock the almirah without causing significant damage. They fled the scene after stealing the cash and gold ornaments.

After being alerted, personnel from Kotpad Police Station reached the spot and launched an investigation. The crime scene was examined, and police have begun questioning local residents and gathering evidence to identify those involved in the burglary.

Police are also reviewing possible leads and investigating whether the theft was carried out by a well-planned gang familiar with the house and its surroundings.

The victim’s family has urged the police to expedite the investigation, trace the stolen cash and jewellery, and arrest the culprits at the earliest.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.
