The recognition places KIIT among leading research-driven institutions globally and highlights the growing international impact of its academic and scientific contributions.

The Global Scientist Index, prepared by the independent research benchmarking platform SciRank Global, evaluates researchers using a rigorous bibliometric methodology. The rankings are based on the Normalised Composite Score (NCS), which measures scientific influence through publications, citations, and other research performance indicators. The 2025 assessment analyzed more than 10 million active researcher profiles and nearly 50 million scholarly publications worldwide.

Researchers featured in the top 5 percent category are considered to have demonstrated exceptional academic productivity and research impact, outperforming a vast majority of their peers across the globe.

The achievement underscores KIIT’s sustained commitment to fostering a vibrant research ecosystem that encourages innovation, high-quality publications, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global academic engagement. It also reflects the institution’s growing reputation as a centre of excellence in higher education and scientific research.

University officials noted that the inclusion of 54 faculty members in the prestigious global registry is expected to further enhance KIIT’s international academic standing, attract new research collaborations, and create greater opportunities for innovation, knowledge exchange, and student mentorship.

The accomplishment is also seen as a reflection of the visionary leadership of KIIT and KISS Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta, whose emphasis on research-led education and global academic standards has helped the institution achieve several international milestones over the years.

With this latest recognition, KIIT continues to strengthen its position as one of India’s leading institutions in research, innovation, and academic excellence.
