Odisha Releases Admission Statistics for Four-Year ITEP Courses; 1,259 Students Enrolled So Far

Bhubaneswar, July 30 (UDN): The Higher Education Department of the Odisha Government has released the latest admission statistics for the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for the 2026-27 academic session, along with details of the upcoming waiting list admission process.

According to the department, a total of 10,647 candidates applied for admission against 1,500 sanctioned seats across participating Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the state.

The admission process has witnessed a strong response, with 546 students securing admission in the first round and 713 candidates joining in the second round, taking the total number of admissions to 1,259.

The department also published the list of waitlisted candidates along with their respective waiting ranks at 2 pm on Wednesday. Candidates can now check their status and participate in the third phase of admissions.

As per the official notification, all applicants—except the 210 candidates who have already secured admission in their first-preference HEIs—are eligible to participate in the third (Spot/Waiting List) Admission Round for their remaining higher-preference institutions.

Waiting List Admission Schedule

Waitlisted candidates are required to report physically to their preferred Higher Education Institutions on July 30 and July 31, 2026, carrying their Common Application Form (CAF) and all necessary documents. Applicants who are unable to attend personally may authorise a representative to report on their behalf, provided the representative carries valid identity proof.

The participating HEIs will prepare and publish the merit list of the reported waitlisted applicants on August 2, 2026. Candidates selected in this round must complete their admission formalities by reporting to their allotted institutions on August 3 and August 4, 2026, within the prescribed reporting hours.

Meanwhile, the Higher Education Department has announced that first-year classes for the four-year ITEP programme will commence from August 1, 2026, ensuring that the academic calendar proceeds as scheduled even as the final admission process continues.
