Bhubaneswar, Sept. 23 (UDN): The Odisha government has extended the deadline for online applications under the Bidesh Sikhyabruti Scheme by 11 days, giving eligible students more time to apply for financial assistance to pursue higher studies abroad.

The Higher Education Department announced on Wednesday that the application deadline, earlier fixed for September 19, has now been extended to September 30, 2026.

SC, ST Students Eligible

The scholarship scheme is aimed at eligible students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities who wish to pursue postgraduate or PhD programmes at leading foreign institutions.

Students seeking to avail themselves of the scheme can submit their applications online through the Odisha State Scholarship Portal (OSS Portal) by the revised deadline.

The department has advised applicants to carefully check the eligibility conditions and other provisions of the scheme before completing the application process.

Applications Through Scholarship Portal

Eligible candidates are required to apply through the state’s online scholarship system within the extended timeline. The department has also asked prospective applicants to refer to the detailed guidelines issued for the Bidesh Sikhyabruti Scheme.

The extension is expected to provide additional time to eligible students who could not complete their applications by the earlier deadline.

Applicants have been advised to ensure that all required information and documents are submitted correctly while applying through the portal.
