Bhubaneswar, Sept. 17 (UDN): The resignation of Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police Jagmohan Meena, a 2013-batch Indian Police Service officer, has been formally accepted by the Centre, bringing his IPS tenure to an end, officials said on Thursday.

Meena had submitted his resignation citing personal reasons. Following scrutiny by the Odisha Home Department, his resignation request, along with the necessary documents, was forwarded to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs for consideration.

With the Centre approving the resignation, Meena has officially ceased to be a member of the IPS.

Served In Several Odisha Districts

During his career in Odisha, Meena held senior police assignments in districts including Cuttack, Ganjam and Malkangiri. His responsibilities included maintaining law and order, investigating and preventing crime, and participating in operations against Left-Wing Extremism.

Tenure As Bhubaneswar DCP

As DCP of Bhubaneswar, Meena was associated with police operations targeting cybercrime and illegal drug networks in the state capital.

His resignation brings to a close more than a decade of service in the Odisha cadre of the IPS.
