Bhubaneswar, July 22 (UDN): Two people were injured after a speeding car collided with an auto-rickshaw on the busy Patia–Jaydev Vihar road in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday morning, triggering temporary traffic congestion in the area.
According to preliminary reports, the car was travelling at a high speed when it allegedly rammed into the auto-rickshaw from behind. The impact was so severe that the three-wheeler suffered extensive damage.
The injured occupants were rescued by locals and shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Their condition was not immediately known.
The accident briefly disrupted traffic on one of the city’s busiest corridors as damaged vehicles blocked part of the carriageway. Commuters experienced delays until authorities cleared the road.
On being informed, police reached the accident site, regulated traffic and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the collision.
Officials are examining whether overspeeding or other factors contributed to the crash. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
