Bhubaneswar, July 15 (UDN): The Government of Odisha has officially launched the Baristha Nagarik Tirtha Yatra Yojana 2026–27, reaffirming its commitment to supporting senior citizens by enabling them to undertake pilgrimages to revered religious destinations across India with government assistance. Applications for the scheme will be accepted from July 15 to August 14, 2026.

The scheme aims to provide elderly citizens with an opportunity to visit important pilgrimage sites in a safe, dignified, and well-organized manner. Eligible applicants may submit their applications online through the official portal or follow the prescribed offline application process.

Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida, while unveiling the guidelines at Paryatan Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, said the initiative reflects the State Government’s dedication to promoting the welfare and spiritual well-being of senior citizens.
Since its inception, the Baristha Nagarik Tirtha Yatra Yojana has enabled more than 45,555 senior citizens to undertake pilgrimages to major religious destinations across the country under government sponsorship.
Senior citizens seeking to benefit from the scheme are encouraged to apply within the stipulated application period and review the eligibility criteria and guidelines available on the official portal.
