Kolkata, Sep 01: Standard Chartered today announced the opening of two new Priority Banking Centres within its existing branches in Kolkata, reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to growing its Affluent, Wealth and SME businesses in India while deepening relationships across the client continuum.
These centres are part of the existing branches located at Churchlane and Salt Lake, further strengthening the Bank’s presence in eastern India. The Bank, in August 2025, had inaugurated its largest branch in East India, in Kolkata .
With the new Priority Banking centres in Kolkata, the Bank has a total of 24 such centres within existing branches in India. The Kolkata launch follows the recent opening of similar Priority Banking centres in Gurugram and Chennai.
India is among the key markets for Standard Chartered’s Wealth & Retail Banking business and is also a significant contributor to the Bank’s SME Banking franchise.
These new centres are designed to offer an elevated and differentiated experience for affluent clients bringing together the Bank’s wealth expertise, local market insights and the strength and reach of its international network to deliver a more holistic proposition.
