Bengaluru, February 4, 2025: Recently, the sprawling grounds at Stonehill International School came alive with food stalls featuring a wide array of cuisines from all the 36 countries that Stonehill students come from as the Stonehill Parents Teachers Association (PTA) hosted the International Food Fair (IFF). The Food Fair is a grand annual event where students, parents, teachers and friends and family of the community indulge in lip-smacking culinary delights.
This year the fair had stalls selling food from Switzerland, Turkey, Denmark, Sweden, the USA, the UK, Uzbekistan, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India, Russia, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and many other countries. The evening was enlivened with a DJ playing on stage for a packed dance floor, as well as cultural performances from students and parents.
The much-awaited Food Fair began with the customary flag parade showcasing the school’s vibrant international community, diversity and inclusivity. The parade is a symbolic showcase of how Stonehill is a truly international multicultural environment. At the fair, parents from diverse cultures not only laid out a wide range of delicacies from their countries but also exhibited the essence of their cultures by decorating the stalls in a variety of highly creative ways. Mr Jitu Virwani, Founder of the school and Chairman & Managing Director, Embassy Group, was present at the event and gave away the award for the best decorated stall.
Joe Lumsden, Head of School at Stonehill International School, said, “The International Food Fair is a testament to the diverse and inclusive community that Stonehill is. Parents and students look forward to this event every year and really enjoy celebrating their own culture as well as experiencing the tastes of other countries from around the world.”
Sasha Singh, the Stonehill PTA President, said, “The Food Fair is an incredible opportunity to meet and engage with the diverse community that we have on campus. The diversity at Stonehill International School is unique and this is an event that encourages the whole community to participate. All proceeds will be directed towards buying school bags for students of the Stonehill Government School, at Tarahunise Village.”
