Bhubaneswar, Apr 13 (BNP): Odisha is reeling under an intense heatwave coupled with high humidity, with temperatures soaring above 40°C in several parts of the state, making conditions extremely uncomfortable for residents.
According to weather reports, multiple cities have recorded significantly high daytime temperatures, while rising humidity levels have further aggravated the discomfort, leading to sweltering conditions even during evening hours.
The prevailing heatwave is expected to continue over the next few days, prompting authorities to issue advisories urging people to avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours and stay hydrated.
Health experts have warned of an increased risk of heat-related illnesses such as dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke, particularly among children, the elderly, and outdoor workers.
Meanwhile, the administration is closely monitoring the situation and has advised necessary precautions to minimize health risks amid the ongoing heatwave conditions.
