Kendrapara, Sept. 18 (UDN): A 22-year-old man sustained critical injuries after a dry tree branch reportedly fell on his motorcycle and pierced his abdomen in Kendrapara district on Friday morning.

The injured youth was identified as Pabitra Pradhan, son of Ajay Pradhan of Kansar village.

According to reports, Pabitra was travelling towards Kendrapara town on his motorcycle when a dry branch from a roadside tree suddenly broke and fell on him near Kansar along Gandakia Road.

The impact caused a broken portion of the branch to pierce his abdomen, leaving him seriously injured.

Locals Rush Injured Youth to Hospital

Following the incident, local residents rushed to the spot and rescued Pabitra. He was initially taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Kendrapara for treatment.

However, as his condition reportedly worsened, he was shifted to a private hospital in Cuttack for further treatment.

The incident has raised concerns over the condition of roadside trees, particularly dry and potentially hazardous branches along busy roads. Further details about the incident and the victim’s condition are awaited.
