Balasore, Sept. 17 (UDN): A young man died after accidentally falling from the roof of his house while plucking flowers for religious worship at Nilagiri in Balasore district.

The deceased was identified as Aditya Jena, son of Papu Jena, a resident of Ghatagharasahi under Ward No. 2 of Nilagiri NAC.

According to family members, Aditya had climbed onto the rooftop to collect flowers for puja when he reportedly lost his balance and fell to the ground.

He was immediately taken to Nilagiri Hospital by his family in the hope of saving his life. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

The incident has left the family devastated and cast a pall of gloom over Ghatagharasahi, where residents mourned the young man’s sudden death.

The tragic incident has also highlighted the need for caution while accessing rooftops, particularly when climbing on elevated or potentially slippery surfaces.
