Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 (UDN): Odisha Police has expanded its digital service delivery system by bringing 14 police-related citizen services onto the ‘Ama Saathi’ Unified WhatsApp Bot, allowing people to apply for and access services without having to visit police stations or government offices.

Odisha Director General of Police Vinaytosh Mishra inaugurated the integrated services at the DGP Camp Office in Bhubaneswar on Friday. The initiative is aimed at making police services more accessible, transparent and convenient through a 24×7 digital platform.
The ‘Ama Saathi’ WhatsApp Bot has been developed through a collaborative effort involving the Odisha government’s Centre for Modernizing Government Initiative (CMGI), State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), Odisha Police and Meta India (WhatsApp). SCRB coordinated the technical integration of the police services.
The platform was originally launched by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on December 25, 2025, on Good Governance Day, with the objective of making government services easily accessible to citizens.
14 Police Services Now Available
The newly integrated services cover a wide range of requirements, including:
Character certificate
Senior citizen registration
Employee verification
Domestic helper verification
Tenant and PG verification
Reporting and registration of lost property or documents
Missing person information and registration
Complaint registration
Loudspeaker permission/NOC
Permission for events and processions
Permission for agitation or strike
FIR copy issuance
Final form copy issuance in road accident, stolen vehicle and theft cases
Apply and Track Through WhatsApp
Citizens can access the services by saving the ‘Ama Saathi’ WhatsApp number 9437292000 and sending a ‘Hi’ message. Users can then select their preferred language and choose the required service.
Applicants can submit the necessary details and supporting documents through the platform. Once an application is submitted, it is forwarded electronically to the concerned police office or authority for processing.
A reference or application number is generated for each request, enabling citizens to track its progress. Where digital delivery is available, approved documents can also be received directly through WhatsApp.
Officials said the integration is expected to further strengthen citizen-centric policing by reducing the need for physical visits and providing easier access to routine police services through a familiar digital platform.
Senior officials present at the inauguration included Additional DGP (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar, Police Commissioner S. Debadatta Singh, IG STF Himanshu Lal, IG (Intelligence) Satyabrata Bhoi, IG (Crime Branch) Sarthak Sarangi and CMGI Executive Director Surendra Kumar Meena.
Director, SCRB, Abinash Kumar, delivered the welcome address, while SP (Computer) Amulya Dhar proposed the vote of thanks.
