Bhubaneswar, Sept. 10 (UDN): The Odisha BJP will launch a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and his 25 years in public life with a series of public outreach and service programmes across the state.
Announcing the campaign, Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal said the month-long initiative would combine community service, awareness campaigns and public engagement activities, with programmes planned across urban and rural areas.
The campaign will begin on September 17 with what the party described as one of Odisha’s largest blood donation drives. Samal also appealed to beneficiaries of government welfare schemes and the general public to light an ‘Ashirwad Deep’ at their homes at 7 pm on the inaugural day.
Outreach Across Schools, Villages and Anganwadi Centres
As part of the campaign, schools and colleges will host lectures, drawing competitions and photo exhibitions themed around the ‘Story of Change’, with elected representatives participating in the events.
At Anganwadi centres, activities under the ‘Seva Setu’ initiative, including rangoli exhibitions, will be organised, while street plays titled ‘Namo Seva Gatha’ will be staged at prominent public locations to spread awareness.
Door-to-Door Campaign and Jansevak Mahakumbh
The BJP will also organise a door-to-door outreach programme under ‘Seva Mora Yogadan’, with party leaders, workers and youth volunteers interacting with people across the state. The campaign will highlight 25 major initiatives associated with Modi’s years in public life and governance.
One of the largest events during the month-long programme will be the ‘Jansevak Mahakumbh’, where around 1.25 lakh elected representatives and public representatives from across Odisha are expected to gather and collectively sing the national anthem.
Speaking on the occasion, Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra said the campaign aims to promote the spirit of public service while strengthening the party’s engagement with people through community-oriented initiatives.
The campaign is scheduled to conclude on October 17 after a month of activities across Odisha.
