According to the IMD, squally winds of 40-50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph, are likely over the North and Central Bay of Bengal during this period. Similar wind conditions are expected along and off the coasts of Odisha, West Bengal, Bangladesh and North Andhra Pradesh.
The weather system is also likely to trigger rough to very rough sea conditions over the North and Central Bay of Bengal, prompting authorities to exercise caution in coastal and marine areas.
In view of the anticipated adverse weather, the IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into the North and Central Bay of Bengal or operate along and off the coasts of Odisha, West Bengal, Bangladesh and North Andhra Pradesh for the next 48 hours.
The weather office has urged fishermen already at sea to remain alert and follow official advisories as the sea conditions are expected to remain unsettled during the warning period.
