Odisha Coast Under Rough Sea Alert; Fishermen Advised Against Venturing Out Till Sept 11

Bhubaneswar, Sept. 9 (UDN): Fishermen along the Odisha coast have been advised to stay away from the sea for the next three days as the India Meteorological Department’s Bhubaneswar centre forecast squally weather and rough sea conditions along and off the coast.

According to the latest forecast, the adverse weather conditions are likely to prevail from September 9 to September 11, 2026.

Winds May Gust Up To 60 Kmph

The Meteorological Centre has forecast wind speeds of 40-50 kmph, with gusts potentially reaching 60 kmph along and off the Odisha coast during the period.

The strong winds are likely to make marine conditions hazardous for fishing and other small-vessel operations.

Sea Likely To Remain Rough To Very Rough

The sea condition is expected to remain rough to very rough along and off the Odisha coast from Wednesday through September 11.

In view of the anticipated deterioration in marine conditions, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea during the warning period.

Authorities and fishing communities have been urged to take note of the weather advisory and exercise caution until conditions improve.
