ECoR Adds Extra Coaches to Howrah-Puri and Other Trains to Ease Passenger Rush

Bhubaneswar, Sept. 7 (UDN): In a relief for passengers travelling to and from Odisha, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the temporary augmentation of coaches in several trains to accommodate the increased rush during the current travel period.

The additional coaches have been introduced to increase seat and berth availability and provide greater convenience to passengers travelling on busy routes.

Train No. 12837 Howrah-Puri Express has been augmented with one additional Sleeper Class coach from September 5 to September 11, 2026.

Similarly, Train No. 18039 Shalimar-Puri Express has been provided with two additional Sleeper Class coaches on September 6, 2026.

Train No. 18063 Santragachi-Yelahanka Express will run with one additional AC 3-Tier coach on September 10, 2026.

Train No. 18107 Rourkela-Jagdalpur Express will also get one additional Sleeper Class coach on September 11, 2026.

According to ECoR, the temporary augmentation has been undertaken to cater to the additional passenger demand and ease the pressure on available accommodation during the rush period.

The move is expected to provide more seats and berths to passengers and facilitate smoother travel on the affected services.

Passengers planning to travel on these trains during the specified dates are advised to check the latest reservation status and seat availability through official Indian Railways booking platforms before commencing their journey.
