Bhubaneswar, Aug. 30 (UDN): Four people from Odisha, including a mother and her minor daughter, remain untraced in Nepal following devastating flash floods that disrupted communication and transport in several parts of the neighbouring country.

The Odisha government has stepped up efforts to establish contact with the missing persons and ascertain their whereabouts.

Among those reported missing are Sandeep Mahapatra and his wife Siddharthi Sahu, a couple from Khordha district. The other two are Gunnam Saibindu and her minor daughter Gunnam Hariksha.

Families Await Information

The disappearance of the four has triggered concern among their families and relatives in Odisha, who are anxiously waiting for updates on their safety.

State authorities are coordinating efforts to trace the missing individuals and gather information about their current location and condition.

Officials are also working to establish communication with people in the affected areas as rescue and relief operations continue in Nepal.

Other Odias Rescued, Reportedly Safe

Meanwhile, the other Odias who were rescued from flood-hit areas of Nepal are reportedly safe.

The flash floods, which struck several parts of Nepal on August 26, caused extensive damage and disrupted road connectivity and communication networks, making it difficult to immediately establish contact with people in affected areas.

With four Odias still untraced, the immediate priority for the Odisha government remains locating them and providing their families with confirmed information about their safety.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation and coordinate efforts to trace the missing persons.
