The screening of The Mushrooms at the Jagran Film Festival turned into a memorable moment for the team as the film played to a housefull audience and received a warm standing ovation at the end.

What made the screening even more special was the audience response from the very beginning. As the film opened with its striking first moments, the curiosity around the screening grew, drawing more people towards the theatre. The powerful opening of The Mushrooms caught the attention of festival attendees, and many walked in to experience what was unfolding on screen.

By the end of the screening, the audience response had turned into heartfelt applause and a standing ovation, making it a proud and emotional moment for the team. Lead actors Abhijeet Nalawade and Anushka Kaushik were present at the screening and witnessed the love first-hand.

The appreciation at the Jagran Film Festival adds another proud chapter to The Mushrooms’ impressive festival journey. The film has already won Best Asian Film at the Reale Film Festival, Milan 2026, and has been nominated for the festival’s Final Award.

At the Darbhanga Film Festival, The Mushrooms won awards for Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Actor and Best Actress. The film was also selected under Judges Select Shorts at the Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival and has been an Official Selection at the International Film Festival of Shimla, Aravali Film Festival, Delhi, and Avignon Film Festival, France.

The film has further earned nominations at the Kolhapur KalaNagri International Film Festival for Best Female Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Music and Best Editing, along with a nomination at the Jaipur International Film Festival. It was also named a Finalist at the USA Film Festival and featured in the Top 100 at the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival. The film’s performances have also received recognition, including Best Actor at the Aravali Film Festival.

Presented by Lasaki Mediaworks, The Mushrooms, directed by Srija Barua Nalawade, continues to win appreciation from audiences and festivals, with its Jagran Film Festival screening becoming yet another memorable moment in its journey.
