Odisha Flood Misery Continues in Bhadrak: Villagers Still Wading Through Knee-Deep Water

Bhadrak, Aug. 22 (UDN): Although floodwaters have started receding in several parts of Odisha, normal life is still far from restored in many districts, including Bhadrak. In Dihabil village under Tentulidihi Panchayat of Chandbali block, residents continue to struggle as knee-deep water remains stagnant, disrupting their daily lives.

Water Levels Drop, But Hardships Remain

Floodwater still covers village roads, residential areas, and low-lying pockets, making it difficult for people to step out of their homes, access essential supplies, and travel. Several villages remain virtually cut off from the outside world.

Second Wave of Flooding Deepened the Crisis

The situation in Chandbali has become more severe after the area was hit by flooding twice. The repeated inundation has damaged houses, farmland, and standing crops, leaving many families with significant losses.

Residents Await Relief and Restoration

While river levels have begun to fall, the slow drainage of stagnant water has prolonged the suffering of affected communities. Villagers are urging the government to provide immediate relief and rehabilitation support until road connectivity is restored and normal living conditions return.
