The precautionary measure applies to four flood-hit blocks—Bhadrak, Tihidi, Dhamnagar and Chandbali—where concerns over waterlogging and rising river levels have disrupted normal life.

Schools to remain closed today

Acting on the directions of the District Collector, authorities announced a one-day holiday for educational institutions in the affected areas to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The closure covers:

205 schools
265 Anganwadi centres

Officials said the decision was taken as a preventive step amid the ongoing flood situation across the district.

Flood situation under watch

Bhadrak is among the districts facing the impact of heavy rains and flooding, prompting authorities to monitor vulnerable areas closely. Local officials are keeping a watch on water levels and are expected to review the situation before deciding on further measures.

Residents have been advised to remain cautious, avoid waterlogged roads where possible, and follow instructions issued by the district administration.

Further updates on school operations and the flood situation are expected as authorities continue to assess conditions on the ground.
