The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police has deployed Police Control Room (PCR) vehicles at the airport, which can be used to transport passengers requiring urgent medical attention to hospitals.

Police Vehicles Kept Ready at Airport

The arrangement is aimed at ensuring that passengers are not left without transportation during a medical emergency because of the disruption in app-based cab services.

According to the Commissionerate Police, passengers who require immediate hospitalisation can approach the PCR vehicles stationed at the airport and seek assistance for transportation.

The initiative is particularly significant for passengers who may be unfamiliar with the city or unable to arrange alternative transport at short notice.

Police Assure Assistance During Strike

The Commissionerate Police said the measure reflects its commitment to public service and passenger safety during the ongoing transportation disruption.

In a message on social media, the police assured passengers that assistance would be provided to those requiring transportation to a hospital in case of a medical emergency.

The police have urged passengers facing such situations to approach the personnel and PCR vehicles available at the airport rather than remain stranded while trying to arrange transport.

Focus on Passenger Safety

The temporary arrangement comes as the strike by app-based cab operators continues to affect transportation services in and around Bhubaneswar.

By keeping PCR vehicles available for emergency hospital transfers, the police aim to ensure that medical emergencies are not compounded by a lack of transport.

The Commissionerate Police reiterated its commitment to assisting the public, with the message: “We are with you. Always, Every time, Everywhere.”
