Bhubaneswar, Aug. 10 (UDN): A fatal road accident on Monday morning claimed the life of a man and left his son critically injured after a bus reportedly hit their motorcycle on the Khandagiri overbridge in Bhubaneswar.

According to preliminary reports, the father and son were travelling on the two-wheeler when the bus collided with their bike amid heavy morning traffic. The impact reportedly threw both riders onto the roadside, leaving them seriously injured.

Following the accident, Khandagiri police reached the spot and rushed the injured duo to a nearby hospital in an ambulance. However, doctors declared the father dead upon arrival. His son, who sustained critical injuries, is currently undergoing treatment.

Heavy Traffic After Mishap

The accident led to severe traffic congestion on the Khandagiri overbridge as well as the road below. A large number of commuters gathered at the spot following the incident, further affecting vehicular movement.

Police have reportedly seized the vehicles involved in the accident and launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
