Bhubaneswar, Aug. 6 (UDN): Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka paid a courtesy visit to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, with the two leaders holding discussions on strengthening cooperation between the neighbouring states.

The meeting was attended by Purandar Mishra, MLA from Raipur (North), and focused on a range of issues of mutual interest, including regional development, infrastructure connectivity, cultural ties and the welfare of the Odia community living in Chhattisgarh.

During the interaction, the leaders exchanged views on enhancing inter-state collaboration in sectors that are crucial to the development of both states. They also discussed measures to improve connectivity and promote greater cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

Chief Minister Majhi later shared details of the meeting, stating that the discussions centred on expanding cooperation between Odisha and Chhattisgarh while ensuring the welfare of Odia residents in the neighbouring state. He also highlighted the importance of cultural exchange in further strengthening the long-standing relationship between the two states.

The meeting assumes significance as Odisha and Chhattisgarh share an extensive interstate border and have common interests in areas such as infrastructure development, trade, tribal welfare and regional economic growth. Both sides expressed optimism about deepening collaboration to advance shared developmental priorities and strengthen bilateral ties.
