Jharsuguda, July 24 (UDN): As part of the ongoing ‘Ojan Utsav’ under the Poshan Abhiyaan, State Project Coordinator for MAMATA and the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), Mamata Nayak, visited several Anganwadi Centres in Jharsuguda district to review child growth monitoring and nutrition-related services.

During the field visit, she was accompanied by the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), District Programme Coordinator (DPC), MAMATA, and the District Coordinator (DC), POSHAN.

The team assessed the implementation of growth monitoring activities by verifying the measurement of children’s weight and height at the Anganwadi Centres. The inspection also included a detailed review of Anganwadi records and entries made in the Poshan Tracker, the digital platform used for monitoring the nutritional status of beneficiaries under the Poshan Abhiyaan.

Officials interacted with Anganwadi workers and reviewed the quality of record-keeping, data accuracy and adherence to prescribed nutrition monitoring protocols. They also emphasised the importance of regular growth assessment for the early identification of malnutrition and timely intervention.

The visit forms part of the state’s efforts to strengthen child nutrition services and ensure effective implementation of flagship schemes aimed at improving maternal and child health outcomes.

‘Ojan Utsav’ is being observed across Odisha to promote systematic growth monitoring, improve nutritional surveillance and reinforce awareness on the importance of early childhood nutrition. The initiative aligns with the objectives of the Poshan Abhiyaan, which seeks to reduce malnutrition and ensure healthy growth and development among children through community participation and technology-enabled monitoring.
