Puri, July 23 (UDN): The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced that public entry through the Singhadwara (Lion’s Gate) of the Shree Gundicha Temple will remain closed from 6:00 pm on Thursday as preparations intensify for the Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath and His siblings.

The temporary restriction has been imposed to facilitate a series of essential pre-Bahuda rituals, including the Shodha (ritual purification) of the Gundicha Temple, which is performed before the deities begin their return journey to the Shree Jagannath Temple.

According to the temple administration, several important religious ceremonies will be conducted within the temple premises during this period, making it necessary to suspend public darshan through the Singhadwara.

The SJTA has appealed to devotees to cooperate with the restrictions and plan their visit accordingly to avoid inconvenience. Pilgrims have also been advised to follow instructions issued by temple officials and security personnel during the festival period.

The administration thanked the Sevayats and other stakeholders for their continued support in ensuring the smooth conduct of Rath Yatra rituals.

With the Bahuda Yatra and the subsequent Suna Besha drawing near, Puri is witnessing a steady influx of devotees, while authorities have stepped up security, crowd management, and traffic arrangements to ensure the celebrations are conducted safely and seamlessly.
