Puri, July 21: Polycab India Ltd. has broadened its public service initiatives at the Jagannath Rath Yatra 2026, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring a safer, more comfortable and better-connected experience for the millions of devotees visiting Puri during the annual festival.
Continuing its association with the world-famous Rath Yatra for the second consecutive year, the leading wires and cables manufacturer has rolled out a series of people-centric interventions under its purpose-led campaign, “Building Safe, Happy Connections.” The initiatives are aimed at addressing the practical needs of pilgrims while contributing to the smooth conduct of one of India’s largest spiritual congregations.
As part of the initiative, Polycab has installed 3D welcome gates and milestone signages at key entry points to greet devotees arriving in the holy city. To strengthen public safety along Puri’s coastline, the company has also supported lifeguards and emergency volunteers with life jackets and watchtowers, helping enhance surveillance and emergency preparedness during the festival.
Keeping in mind the needs of elderly pilgrims, children and families travelling long distances, Polycab has established dedicated Cool Zones where devotees can rest, hydrate and take respite from the heat before resuming their pilgrimage.
The company has also introduced solar-powered mobile charging stations at strategic locations across Puri, allowing visitors to keep their phones charged and remain connected with family members and emergency services throughout their visit.
Complementing these facilities are ambient installations across the city celebrating the spirit of the Rath Yatra while promoting messages of safety, community participation and responsible public engagement.
Speaking on the initiative, Shwetal Basu, Senior Vice President – Brand & Marcom, Polycab India Ltd., said the Jagannath Rath Yatra is not merely a religious festival but a celebration of faith, unity and shared human values.
“At Polycab, we believe our purpose goes beyond delivering products. It is about creating meaningful connections that improve people’s lives. Through these initiatives, we hope to make the pilgrimage safer, more comfortable and more convenient for devotees while contributing positively to the communities we serve,” he said.
Polycab said its continued participation in the Rath Yatra reflects its broader vision of combining innovation with community service. By focusing on public safety, comfort and connectivity, the company aims to create a meaningful impact while supporting the smooth experience of pilgrims at one of India’s most revered religious festivals.
