Bhubaneswar, July 2 (UDN): Odisha Police have successfully busted an interstate human trafficking racket, rescuing one woman and six minor girls from Hyderabad in a coordinated interstate operation. Two alleged traffickers have been arrested in connection with the case.
The rescue operation was carried out following a detailed investigation and close coordination between Odisha Police and their counterparts in Hyderabad. The victims were allegedly trafficked from Odisha and kept under the control of the accused before being rescued by the police.
The arrested accused have been identified as Iswar Kusulia and Chandra. They were produced before the competent court, which remanded them to 14 days of judicial custody. The rescued woman and the six girls have been safely reunited with their families, while further investigation is underway to identify other members of the trafficking network and ensure stringent legal action against all those involved.
Odisha Police reiterated their commitment to combating human trafficking and appealed to the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to trafficking or exploitation to the nearest police station or relevant authorities.
