Khordha,Bologarh, June 23 (UDN): In a tragic road accident, two brothers were killed after their motorcycle rammed into a stationary truck on National Highway-57 near Dighiri under Bolagarh police station limits in Odisha’s Khordha district late on Monday night.

The deceased have been identified as Akash Pradhan and Bikash Pradhan, both residents of Dighiri village.

According to reports, the mishap occurred when a truck, which had reportedly broken down, was parked on the highway near Dighiri. The two brothers, who were returning home on their motorcycle, allegedly failed to notice the stationary vehicle and crashed into its rear.

The impact of the collision was severe, leaving both riders critically injured, particularly with serious head injuries.

Locals rushed to the accident site and immediately shifted the injured duo to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared both of them brought dead.

Upon receiving information, police reached the spot, seized the motorcycle and the truck involved in the accident, and launched an investigation into the incident. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
