Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi in New Delhi for Key NITI Aayog Meeting Chaired by PM Modi

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi, June 10 (UDN): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi arrived in New Delhi on a two-day visit to participate in the crucial Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, scheduled to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The high-level policy forum is expected to bring together Chief Ministers and senior government leaders from across the country to deliberate on key issues related to governance, development and economic growth.

The meeting holds special significance for Odisha, as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in power both at the Centre and in the state. The “double-engine government” is expected to facilitate stronger Centre-State coordination and accelerate the implementation of development projects and welfare initiatives in Odisha.

According to official sources, Chief Minister Majhi is likely to highlight Odisha’s development priorities and seek greater support from the Central Government for key infrastructure, industrial, agricultural, healthcare, education and investment-related projects. He is also expected to raise several state-specific issues and advocate for enhanced cooperation in achieving Odisha’s long-term growth objectives.

The NITI Aayog Governing Council serves as the apex platform for fostering cooperative federalism and strengthening policy coordination between the Centre and the states. Discussions during the meeting are expected to focus on economic development, governance reforms, infrastructure expansion, employment generation, innovation-driven growth and the effective implementation of flagship schemes.

The Council is also likely to review the progress of major national programmes and assess strategies for achieving inclusive and sustainable development across states. Deliberations may emphasize improving governance outcomes, enhancing service delivery and promoting greater collaboration in meeting India’s development goals.

During his visit to the national capital, Chief Minister Majhi is also scheduled to attend a conference of Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states. The conference will provide a platform for leaders to exchange best governance practices, discuss common developmental challenges and explore opportunities for greater inter-state cooperation.

Political observers view the visit as significant for Odisha’s future development trajectory. The outcomes of the NITI Aayog meeting are expected to influence policy support, funding priorities and Centre-State collaboration on several major projects and initiatives.

As leaders from across the country gather in New Delhi, Odisha is expected to use the platform to showcase its development agenda, highlight recent achievements and seek enhanced support for transformative projects aimed at accelerating economic growth, improving infrastructure and ensuring inclusive development across the state.
