Boudh, June 1 (BNP): In a shocking incident reported from Adenigada village in Odisha’s Boudh district, a paralysed man endured a terrifying two-hour ordeal after a python allegedly coiled around his hand while he sat helplessly on a chair inside his house.

According to local sources, the victim, who suffers from paralysis and has limited mobility, was unable to react or seek immediate help after the reptile wrapped itself around his hand and remained near him for nearly two hours, creating panic among family members and villagers.
The incident reportedly occurred when the man was sitting inside his residence, unaware of the reptile’s presence. Family members later noticed the snake and immediately alerted neighbours, following which efforts were initiated to rescue the victim safely without provoking the animal.
Villagers and local rescuers eventually managed to separate the python from the man and shift it away from the residential area. The victim escaped unharmed, though the incident left the family traumatised.
The unusual encounter triggered fear and curiosity in the locality, with residents urging authorities to strengthen wildlife rescue response systems in rural areas where human-animal encounters are increasingly being reported.
Officials are yet to issue a detailed statement regarding the incident.
