National Human Trafficking Awareness Day: Raising Voices Against Modern Slavery

Kotpad 11th January 2025 National Human Trafficking Awareness Day is observed annually on January 11 in the United States to raise awareness about the global issue of human trafficking and promote efforts to combat it. Established in 2007 by a resolution of the U.S. Senate, this day highlights the importance of recognizing the signs of trafficking and supporting victims.

Human trafficking involves the exploitation of individuals through forced labor, sexual exploitation, or involuntary servitude, often targeting vulnerable populations such as women, children, and migrants. On this day, organizations, activists, and governments hold events, campaigns, and discussions to educate the public, advocate for stronger laws, and encourage community action to prevent trafficking and support survivors.

It serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight to end human trafficking and the need for collective responsibility to protect human rights and dignity.
